About RateAlmanac
RateAlmanac is a reference for the everyday numbers that run American life and business — sales tax, the minimum wage, the IRS standard mileage rate, federal per-diem, and the other figures you need to look up, get right, and move on.
What we do
Each figure here is taken from the body that sets it — the IRS, the Department of Labor, a state revenue department — and shown with its source and the date it was last checked. The point is simple: one place where the number is current, you can see where it came from, and you don't have to wonder whether you're reading something three years out of date.
How to read a figure
Every entry is marked verified or unverified, carries a "last checked" date, and links to the authority it came from. Treat unverified entries as not yet confirmed. For anything with legal or financial consequences, check the cited source before you rely on it — RateAlmanac is information, not legal, tax, or financial advice.
